Thanks to all of your support, we presented a $36,200 check to Piedmont Unified School District for the 2017-218 academic year to support arts education. We donated $20,968 in Art Program Grants based upon $8 per student for art supplies for all students in grades TK-12.  We also gave $500 to each library to purchase art-related books, funded $6000 in elementary school lunchtime art, provided $750 for art shows and events, and awarded 11 special project grants for classrooms and clubs throughout the district. Congratulations to our grant recipients!

PAINTS is grateful to Piedmont Makers, Piedmont Middle School Parents Club, Piedmont Appreciating Diversity Committee (PADC) and Piedmont Asian American Club (PAAC) for partnering in the awarding of grants this year.  A sincere thank you to Dr. Cheryl Wozniak, Director of Curriculum and Instructions, and the school principals for collaborating with us to ensure that requested funds match curriculum needs. Much gratitude to PUSD Administrative Assistant Mary Leon for helping PAINTS administer and track all grants.

PAINTS currently has 162 members and $10,850 in donations through the Piedmont Store.  As our goal is to grant as much money as we raise the previous year, we encourage each of you to spread the word and ask your friends to join and donate to PAINTS.  Since donations during registration are down 50% over the past two years, we are looking for corporate sponsors to help fund arts education in our schools.  We have heard from all principals that, with successful integration of arts into the TK-12 curriculum, there is an immediate and ongoing need for arts supplies and materials for all classrooms.
