March is Art Is Education Month! Proceeds from our Art is Education events support Visual and Performing Arts and Music Education. Art is Education Month! is sponsored by the Alameda County Alliance for Arts Learning Leadership. This year come learn how to make and animate your own puppet with puppeteer Jesse Vail. Use our puppet stages to act out your own show. Elementary art show features kindergarten and second grade art from all three elementary schools. This family friendly FREE event sponsored by Paints (promote art in the schools), honors the month long celebration of art education in our schools occurring throughout the Alameda County School District. Join us! Refreshments served.
For many years, PAINTS has sponsored a Chalk Art Festival at the Beach or Havens playground. For the last two years, we have joined forces with the Beach Dad's Club (and their delicious Pancake Breakfast) as well as with the international Chalk4Peace Festival, where people around the world will repaint the planet with the color of peace! What a great combination! Chalk art squares are $10 and the pancakes start flipping at 9am.
